Andrew Harjo, 83 year-old longtime Seminole County, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life April 1, 2018 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born September 15, 1934 in Wolf, Oklahoma to parents Marie (Powell) Harjo and Turner Harjo. Andrew married Ramona Warledo in May of 1954 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Andrew is a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma (the Tusekia Harjo Band). Andrew worked for 36 years at “Fine Candy Company” in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as a candy maker. Collecting coins and antique firearms was something that Andrew enjoyed. He also loved listening to his rhythm and blues music. Survivors include 4 daughters, Elizabeth Robbles of Cyril, Oklahoma, Bernice Baughman of Seminole, Oklahoma, Patricia Martinez of Seminole, Oklahoma and Sharon Ortiz of Seminole, Oklahoma; 4 brothers, Leo Tiger of Seminole, Oklahoma, Jimmy Harjo of Seminole, Oklahoma, George Harjo of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Richard Harjo of Seminole, Oklahoma; 1 sister, Ramona Wolf of Holdenville, Oklahoma; 21 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Andrew is preceded in death by his parents Turner and Marie Harjo, by his wife Ramona Harjo (11-17-2003), by one daughter Karen Harjo, by two Brothers Newman Harjo and Johnson Harjo. A wake service is scheduled for Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Andrew will be taken to Sand Creek Church at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 for his Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 with Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Dorsey Nero officiating the service. Interment will follow at the Harjo Family Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
