Seminole resident, Amanda “Mandy” Williams, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024, at her home, at the age of 96.

Mandy, the daughter of Thomas and Lillie Mae (Wood) Hulbutta, was born November 22, 1927, in Limestone, Oklahoma. She started school in Limestone, but left school at an early age to work. Mandy was married to Cecil Harjo and then Jim Williams and both preceded her in death. She worked at Seminole Estates as a CNA. Mandy was a single mother. She raised many children and other family members. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo, and she loved watching westerns. Mandy was born in Limestone, Oklahoma, on her great auntie’s sofa. She loved being with her kids and grandkids, and eating and sharing her Cheetos.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lillie Hulbutta; siblings, Emmett Scotty Hulbutta, Leo Hulbutta, Charles Hulbutta, Irene Frazier, Geneva Fox, and Lillie (Rita) Factor; and children, Pauline de Guzman, Thomas John Harjo, Melizzie (Midge) Jane (Harjo) Hilburn, and Ricky Scott (Harjo) Williams.

Mandy is survived by her children, Manuel de Guzman, of Arizona, Katherine Hicks, of Seminole, Randy Harjo, of Okmulgee, Martha Harjo, of Seminole and Felicia Hicks, of Federick; 17 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren; her dear friend, Barbara Hail; and many other family members and friends.

Casket bearers will be Grant Harjo, Casey Hicks, Justin Hicks, Dayton Simons, Anthony Ray Hicks, Timothy Fry, Ricky Simons and Jacob Robertson.

Honorary casket bearers will be Manuel de Guzman, Randy Harjo, Jimmy Hulbutta, Jackie Hulbutta, Tommy Hulbutta, Leon Frazier, Jimmy Ray Frazier, and Adam Kaskaske.

There will be a wake service Sunday, October 27, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. at the Sand Creek Church in Wewoka.

Services will be Monday, October 28, at 2:00 P.M. at the Sand Creek Church in Wewoka, with Houston Tiger and Kevin Fox officiating. Interment will follow at the Sand Creek Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
