Alvin Yoesel

Alvin Yoesel, 90 year old longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Sunday, April 3, 2016 in Seminole, Oklahoma.  He was born February 12, 1926 to Edna and Walter Yoesel in Rulo, Nebraska.  In 1938 the Yoesel family moved to White Cloud, Kansas, where Alvin met his high school sweetheart, Norma Mann.  Then on March 20, 1945, the couple married in Hiawatha, Kansas and moved to Augusta, Kansas.  Alvin started working in the oilfields and in 1955 the couple moved to Arkansas City, Kansas. In 1964 the oil business took the family to Seminole, Oklahoma.  In the late 1960’s Alvin and Norma started N&Y Trucking Co. then in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s they opened N&Y Heavy Equipment Construction Company, where Alvin worked until his retirement in the 1990’s.  Alvin and Norma were also very active members of the First Christian Disciple Church in Seminole. Alvin and Norma took off to enjoy traveling throughout the United States.  Later they joined the Terra Star Park, where Alvin served as president for several years.  Norma and Alvin would spend many winters in south Texas with their friends. Alvin and Norma moved to Eufaula in 2004 where they enjoyed retirement for the next ten years. After losing the love of his life Alvin moved back to Seminole to live out the remainder of his life. Alvin leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Sondra Aguilar and her husband Mike of Shelbyville, Illinois, Joyce Allen and her husband, Dewey of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Ivona Watson and her husband, Larry of Seminole, Oklahoma; by one sister, Glenita Thomson of Wichita, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren; and by a host of other family and dear friends. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Walter Yoesel, by his wife of 68 years, Norma Aileen (Mann) Yoesel who died April 17, 2013; and by three brothers. The family wishes to express a special thank you to, “Doll” Campbell and the staff of Seminole Care and Rehabilitation Center, the staff of Seminole Hospital, and to the ladies of Faith Hospice. Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Pastor Mark McCullough and Barry Tims officiating the service.
