Alpha Mae Young, 81 Alpha Mae Young, 81, longtime Seminole resident was born November 19, 1936 along with twin sister, Wanna Williams. Alpha was born in Oakman, Oklahoma Pontotoc County to parents, Dan Richardson and Alpha Bernice (Anderson) Richardson. Alpha passed away, Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in Seminole. She graduated from Varnum High School, North of Seminole, where she was the Homecoming Queen her senior year. Alpha married Harvey Young July 19, 1956 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She had two daughters Wendy Michelle Young and Sonya Dawn (Young) Vivar. Alpha was a self-employed Tax Agent for 50 years; she worked for H & R Block for ten years and American General Life Insurance for ten years. She loved directing choir in her church which she did for 50 years. Alpha was a part of OSU Extension for Seminole for five years, president of Seminole Camp Fire Girls for three years. In her spare time she loved to knit and crochet along with making ceramics. Alpha is survived by her husband, Harvey Young; one daughter, Sonya Vivar and her husband, Carlos of Mansfield, Texas; two brothers, Thomas Richardson and his wife, Lynda of Mansfield, Texas, Victor Richardson and his wife Maureen of Seminole, Oklahoma; one sister, Deanna Armstrong and her husband, Ivan of Stillwater, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Kal Saldana of Mansfield, Texas, and his wife Wren, Carlos “Nic” Vivar of Mansfield, Texas; two great grandchildren, Everett Saldana and Elliott Saldana. Alpha was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Bernice Richardson; daughter Wendy Young; her twin sister Wanna Williams and sister, Ina Jean McQueen and her great granddaughter, Everleigh Saldana. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Azlin officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens of Seminole, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers: Nic Vivar, Kal Saldana, Zac Richardson, Jim Ladd, Carlos Vivar and Rickey McQueen. Honorary casket bearers: Victor Richardson and Thomas Richardson. In Lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N.
