Alma Castoe

Alma E. Castoe, long time Maud, Oklahoma resident passed away at the age of 98 on Friday, March 4, 2011 in Conway, South Carolina. Alma was born, November 27, 1912 in Maud, Oklahoma to parents Emmitt William and Elisa (Martin) Varner. Alma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Maud and she retired from the Maud City Clerk’s Office. Alma married James William Castoe, December 12, 1936 at Maud, Oklahoma. James passed away April 15, 1965. Alma is survived by two daughters, Janetta Doris Goodin of Conway, South Carolina and Billie Kay Clark of Seminole, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren. Alma was preceded in death by her husband James William Castoe, two sons, Reathel Dwight Castoe, Clarance Oliver Castoe and two daughters, Hazel Inez McMahan and Georgia May. Graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Cummings Cemetery, Maud, Oklahoma with Rev. Rusty McMullen officiating. Visitation will be  noon Thursday, at the Trinity Baptist Church of Maud, Oklahoma, prior to the graveside service. Serving as Casket bearers will be Jimmy Goodin, Scott Goodin, Phillip Goodin, Casey Goodin, Gary McClaskey and Jake Jones.
