Allen Ray Sharp, lifelong Konawa area resident, died Friday, October 20, 2006 at his residence at the age of 85. He was born on October 6, 1921 in southern Pottawatomie County, to Selz Hobert "Buster" & Tina Lena (Curry) Sharp. He enlisted in the United States Navy on December 21, 1942 and served during World War II. He received an honorable discharge on October 13, 1945. He married Luella Marie (Hutton) on November 15, 1941 in Shawnee. They were to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on November 15. rnRay was a farmer all of his life. He served on the board of directors for the ASCS (Soil Conservation), Farm Bureau Board of Directors and former State Secretary of the Future Farmers of America. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Konawa Masonic Lodge #322. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Konawa.rnHe is survived by his wife Luella Sharp of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Judith Sharp of Harrah, OK, Max and Denise Sharp of Konawa, Jim and Terry Sharp of Asher and Bill & Sue Sharp of Oklahoma City; two daughters-in-law, Ellen Sharp of Allen, OK and Janet Sharp of Konawa; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kay Anthony Sharp; one grandson, Floyd Ray Sharp; two great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Marie Lowry and Jacob Garrett Lowry and one daughter-in-law, Paula Sharp.rnFuneral services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with Carl Hayes, officiating. Burial will follow at Vista Cemetery. rnServing as pallbearers will be Chris Sharp, Darin Sharp, Gary Sharp, Michael S. Sharp, Michael A. Sharp and Heath Lowry. Honorary bearers will be Gene Dennie, Edd Bottoms, Bob Lester, Eddie Wayne Bottoms, Lillard Berry, Randy Dennie and James Earl Tooley.
