Alice Marie (Kelough) Sullivan-Miner

Alice Marie (Kelough) Sullivan-Miner, Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away on September 18, at the age of 99. She was born February 16, 1922 in Salem, Oklahoma to Earnest and Laura Kelough. She attended school at Hitchita, Oklahoma. She married James Oscar Sullivan on September 16, 1939 and they were married 31 years until his death. To this marriage was born four children; Norma Sue Hawk, Sharon Kay McCoy, Dessie Murlene Cox and James Ricky Sullivan. As a result of Alice and Oscar’s marriage and the birth of their four children, they were blessed with 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great grandchildren.

During Alice’s life, she took care of elderly relatives, worked at the Katy Café’ in Checotah, Oklahoma for 14 years and at the Methodist Day Care Center in Seminole, Oklahoma for 8 years. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking and collecting clocks. She attended the First Baptist Church of Seminole, Oklahoma.

Alice is survived by her daughters; Sharon Kay McCoy and Dessie Murlene Cox and her son; James Ricky Sullivan and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband, James Oscar Sullivan, daughter; Sue Hawk, granddaughters; Sherry Ann Avery and Christy Ann Stone, grandson; Michael Stone and her great-granddaughter; Pam Hoppins.

Viewing will be Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 11:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Council Hill Cemetery in Council Hill, Oklahoma with Jerry Carson officiating. Casket bearers will be Alan Cox, David Cox, Roy Potts, Stacy Sullivan, Christopher Sullivan, Trevor Ellis and Nicholas Russell.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
