Alice Buena Peavler, St. Louis, Oklahoma resident, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 80. Alice was born on October 10, 1943 in Corona, New Mexico to Ernest George Massey and Maxine Unice (Gilliam) Massey. She spent her early years in Chama, NM and grew up in Grand Junction, CO. She moved to Chandler, OK after graduating from Grand Junction High School in 1961. She moved to the Maud/St. Louis area where she lived the rest of her life. Alice married the love of her life, Jerry Wayne Peavler on February 19, 1986 in Gainesville, TX.
Alice enjoyed gardening, sewing, and embroidery. She loved the slots, RVing, traveling and sightseeing. Alice also loved bottle feeding calves, going to the mountains and playing with her grandkids and great grandkids. The grandkids would come spend weekends and the summer with her and Papa Jerry. She would take them outside, turn calf huts onto their side and would spray the kids with a water hose while they rolled around in it.
Alice is survived by her husband, Jerry Peavler; three sons, Bobby Kent Miller and wife, Ann, Ronald Dean Miller and life partner, James Blevins and Alton Wayne Peavler and wife, Evelyon; two daughters, Kristel Dawn Hayes (Miller) and husband, Chris and Brenda Marie Underwood and husband, Tecumseh; sister, Patricia Unger and her children, Nathan and Susan; 10 grandchildren, Tyler Miller and wife, Lexi, Clint Miller, Mersadez Raper (Miller) and husband, Josh, Guthrie Miller, Jace Greenfield, Jaley Greenfield, Jarin Greenfield, Jance Greenfield, Brandon Travels and wife, Carrie and Shane Travels; great grandchildren, Brexlee Miller, Bridger Miller, Mark Raper, Olivia Miller, Raidan Miller, Carsyn Greenfield, Henslie Cousins, Aspen Travels, Jaxon Travels, Mason Travels and Neveah Travels and many other family and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Maxine (Gilliam) Massey; brothers, Michael Massey, Kenneth Massey and Joe Massey.
Viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 and from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, OK with Bro. Carl Whitfield officiating. Cremation will follow.
