Alice Meek

Alice M. Meek, 65 year-old, Norman resident passed from this life Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in Norman, Oklahoma.  She was born December 21, 1944 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents, Mike Champ and Zella Mae (Combs) Champ. Alice married James “Leroy” Meek on April 6, 1960 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Alice had worked as a Nursing C.N.A. at Midwest City Regional Hospital for over thirty years before she retired.  She was a member of the Seven Day Adventist Church. Alice is survived by her husband Leroy Meek of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Monica Meek of Noble, Oklahoma and Michael and Anna Meek of Harrah, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Bob Cross of Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Mary Champ of Wilson, Oklahoma; one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Bud Mouser of Moore, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; she is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends. Her parents; one sister, Lillian Bailey; one great-grandson, Mathew Aguilar; and one nephew, Byrde Wood, preceded Alice in death. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Ernie Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow at Wolf Cemetery located south of Seminole. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
