Alfred Leroy Tilley Jr.

Alfred Leroy Tilley Jr., 68 year old Seminole, Oklahoma resident and former Okemah, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at his home in Seminole.  He was born February 2, 1948 in Claremore, Oklahoma to parents, Ida (Henetta) Tilley and Alfred Leroy Tilley Sr. Alfred was a member of the Creek Nation of Oklahoma.  He also served in the United States Army where he earned a Sharp Shooter M-14 medal. On January 28, 2008, Alfred married Frances Lee (Bear) Tilley at Snake Creek Baptist Church in Seminole County, Oklahoma.  Alfred was a member of Arbeka Methodist Church. Alfred is survived by his wife Frances Tilley of the home; five sons, Michael Tilley of El Paso, Texas, Brian Tilley of Lawton, Oklahoma, Lee Tilley of Seminole, Oklahoma, Ashley Tilley of Cushing, Oklahoma, Duke Tilley of Seminole, Oklahoma; three daughters, Gloria Fixico of Seminole, Oklahoma, Carrie Tilley of Seminole, Oklahoma, Gina Tilley of Seminole, Oklahoma; brothers and sisters, Josie Lee of Okemah, Oklahoma, Lester Tilley of Okemah, Oklahoma, Martha Beck of Henryetta, Oklahoma, Helen Donley of Henryetta, Oklahoma, Zelva Tilley of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kim Tilley of Hanneha, Oklahoma, Tracy Tilley of Henryetta, Oklahoma, Emmett Tilley of Claremore, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Alfred is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Ida Tilley, by one son, Nicholas “Nick” Tilley who died November of 2012, by two brothers and by one sister. A wake service will be held at Snake Creek Baptist Church located three miles east of Little Cemetery on Hwy. 99 east the ¼ mile south at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 at Snake Creek Baptist Church with Military Honors.  Interment will follow at the Tilley Family Cemetery in Okemah, Oklahoma with Bill Hulbutta officiating the service. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
