Alfred W. “Nuge” Robertson, Jr., 90, Konawa, Oklahoma resident, died Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Ada, Okla. Alfred was born October 29, 1925 in Wolf, Oklahoma to Alfred Wesley Robertson, Sr. and Nettie Lee (Goss) Robertson. Alfred graduated in 1950 from East Central College in Ada, Oklahoma. After receiving his teaching certification, he did his practice teaching at Horace Mann School in Ada, Oklahoma and then he taught school at Dora, Punkin Center, Vamossa and Tupelo schools. He later worked in the Seminole oil fields, pumping wells for H.M. Ligon and Duke Ligon of Wewoka, Oklahoma for many years and later as a roustabout for P & H Construction in Wewoka, Oklahoma, where he did a little of everything for them. He had a great memory, especially about the oilfield. After his retirement he enjoyed traveling. He was a member of the Vamoosa Baptist Church. He loved ranching, his cattle, his land and being on his tractor. He also enjoyed visiting and talking with people. Alfred served his country, as a clerk typist in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II and attained the rank of Corporal. He married Joyce Mae (Lee) Robertson on January 21, 1950 in Bristow, Oklahoma, she preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters Annette Bonner and her husband Mark and Cyndi Penda and her husband Hans; four grandchildren Allison Thomas and her husband Tim, Jacob Bonner, Chris Mann, and Amber Mann and her spouse, Chip Boucher, three great grandchildren Michael, Kadence and Dominque; his special friend Patti Prater of Wewoka, Oklahoma; three sisters; Laquita Huckleberry, Jerry Lemmings and her husband Ronnie and Billie Collins and her husband Lyle of Shawnee, Oklahoma, one brother Keith Robertson and his wife Yvonne of Okemah, Oklahoma and a sister-in-law Ruby Robertson of Konawa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons Jimmy and Kenneth Robertson, one grandson Richard Donavan Mann, one sister Willa Dean Wall, three brothers Herman, Arnold and Dick Robertson, a sister-in-law Katy Robertson and brother-in-law James Wall. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Vamoosa Cemetery, east of Konawa, Oklahoma with Pastor Chris Baker officiating.
