Alex Lindsay

Alex Lindsay, 61 year-old, lifelong Seminole, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at his home in Seminole.  He was born November 17, 1949 in Seminole to parents Willie Lindsay and Lizzie (Coody) Lindsay. Alex served in the United States Army and later worked for Double Cola Bottling Co. until his retirement. On February 8, 1968 Alex married Sherra Lynn Roberts in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife of 43 years Sherra (Roberts) Lindsay of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Lindsay and his wife Amanda of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two daughters, Terri Lynn Harjo of Shawnee, Oklahoma and LaDonna Sue Lindsay of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six brothers, Jack Spencer, Eugene Lindsey, Thomas Lindsey, Leroy Mitchell, Walter Gene Lindsay all of Seminole, Oklahoma and Jimmy Lindsey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Augustine Lindsey and Dorothy Jene Davis both of Seminole, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Alex is preceded in death by his father, Willie Lindsay; his mother, Lizzie (Coody) Lindsay; one son, Jerry Ray Lindsay; one brother, Charles Lindsey; and by two sisters, Bertha Deere and Mary Ann Lindsay. A wake service will be held Tuesday, November 15th, 2011 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16th, 2011 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.  Rev. Frank Moppin will officiate the service. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
