Alberta Dimery

Alberta Dimery, age 91, and a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010 at Shawnee Care Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 13th at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.  Rev. Mitch Williams will officiate. Alberta was born on September 10, 1918 and has spent the passed several years in the area nursing care facilities.  She lived at New Horizon’s Care Facility in Konawa in the late 1990’s, and she was known there as the "Princess" of New Horizon's.  She also spent some time at the Sunset Estates in Maud, Oklahoma. She has spent the last seven years at Shawnee Care Center.  Terry Nicely, Business Office/Personnel Manager for Shawnee Care Center stated that Alberta passed away surrounded by her friends of the Care Center who loved her as their own family. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Charles Dimery.
