Adrian R. Newton, 59, longtime Seminole resident, died Friday December 14, 2018 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Adrian was born in Seminole, Oklahoma on April 20, 1959 to Edward Lee Earnest Newton, Sr. and Gwendolyn M. English. Adrian was a lifelong resident of Seminole and attended Seminole Schools and graduated from Seminole High School 1978. After graduation he attended Murray State College and played basketball there. Adrian work for several years for the City of Seminole in the beautification department. He had formerly worked at the Tolson Supply in Seminole. Adrian loved fishing, cooking barbeque for people, eating, watching western shows, going to football and basketball games and was a great basketball player during his high school years. Adrian is survived by his mother; Gwendolyn English of Seminole, Oklahoma, his daughter; Cassie Rhea Cooper of Lawton, Oklahoma, two brothers; Edward Lee Earnest Newton, Jr. of Oakland, California and Christopher Newton of Tyler, Texas, two sisters; Sonya Riley and Aldine of Quitman, Texas and Tiffany English of Seminole, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole, Oklahoma, Rev. Bobby Curry officiating. Burial will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, east of Seminole, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers: Ceolous Johnson, Jr., Chad Anderson, Nathan Winrow, Doug Burris, Doug Ridge and Tommy Monk; honorary casket bearers: Carlos English and Bryon English; flower girls: Karen Reese, Tiffany English, Brenna Fisher and Janai English.
