Addison Darnell “Sunny Boy” Lewis, 72 year-old, former Seminole resident was born on March 3, 1937, the only child born to his parents Willie Lee and Minnie (Woodfork) Lewis. He attended school at Booker T. Washington in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was baptized at an early age into the Galilee Baptist Church. Addison joined the United States Navy in 1954; he served on the USS Yorktown until 1957. He was honorably discharged from the service. While living at the Clinton Veterans Center he made many friends and the nursing staff will miss him dearly. His parents and his beloved brother-cousin, Pastor Jessie Woodfork, Jr. whom he called “Jun”, all precede him in death. To cherish his memory Addison leaves two aunts, Mrs. Viola Ross of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mrs. Floada Woodfork of Seminole, Oklahoma; cousins, Mrs. Louise McGee of Checotah, Oklahoma; Mrs. Charleszetta (Jesse Lee) Crawford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a host of other cousins and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Interment will follow with military honors in the Veterans Section at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole. Minister Jerry L. Grayson, Sr. will officiate the service. Casket bearers will be: Samuel Woodfork, Sr. – Samuel T. Woodfork, Jr. – Kevin M. Woodfork, II. – Reginald Bass. Flower bearers will be: Freda Woodfork – Karla Woodfork – Karoletta Woodfork and Kozetta Lucas. Usher will be Kellye Woodfork.
