Hazel Marjorie (Taylor) Grubbs

November 28, 1928 — April 8, 2020

Hazel Marjorie (Taylor) Grubbs , age 91, went to meet her Lord and Savior on April 8, 2020 at her home in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was born in San Angelo, Texas to her loving parents, Wilfred O’Rourke and Lula Hazel (Snow) Taylor on November 8, 1928. She was the youngest of four children. She married the love of her life, Roscoe Grubbs on January 23, 1948. They were married for seventy-two years before he proceeded her in death on January 13, 2020. She had the ability to always make you smile and to know that she had love and a special place just for you in her heart. She was quick witted and always had a good come-back to any comment. Marjorie was the Secretary/Treasurer for Graco Supply Company in Fort Worth, Texas in a time when women did not hold the position of an officer in a company. When asked what she did for a living, she would say she was just a bookkeeper. She was always humble and always put others before herself. When she wasn’t working or spending time with her family, you could always find her “playing” in the flower bed. She collected ceramic dogs, and she had well over three hundred dogs with not one duplicate. She could tell you where every dog came from, who gave it to her, and when. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. We all have our special stories to tell about when “Gram” made us laugh or cry in that special way that only she could. She will  truly be missed and carried in the hearts of all that knew her for generations to come.

A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2020 at First Baptist Church located at 201 West Gibbs Blvd. in Glen Rose, Texas.  Associate Pastor, Kent Barnes will officiate, and a reception will follow.

Marjorie leaves behind one son, Robert Grubbs and wife, Sharon of Haltom City, Texas; two daughters, Hazel Langley and husband, Jack of Glen Rose, Texas, and Jeanne Wolf and husband, Curtis of  Seminole, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Thomas Langley, Jonathan Grubbs, Joel Luna, Tammy West, Jennifer Blocker, Wendy Mena, Neil Ayers, Sabra Davis, Corey Ayers, Jimpsey Wolf, and Taylor Wolf; nineteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
